Best route to an energy efficient home?

With only a week before the Northern Homebuilding & Renovating Show we thought we would entice your appetite by discussing some of the hot topics at this year's show by showcasing some videos related to seminars being held at the show over the three days.

The Seminar Programme covers all aspects of self-build and renovation, presented in 6 daily sessions. Simply choose the sessions that are most relevant to you and your project and attend for free. Seats cannot be reserved and are based on a first come first served basis. These seminars are always very popular, so make sure you arrive early to avoid disappointment!

Today we feature leading self-build expert David Snell explaining how to create an energy efficient home, whether you're carrying out a self-build, renovation or home improvement.

This video relates to seminars; Energy Efficiency: Sustainable Home Design and Heating and Ventilationand Zero-Energy Homes: Can you really heat your home for free?

I think David's right, insulation is the key to increasing energy efficiency. You should design your home with energy efficiency in mind - though whether you use solar panels or wind turbines depends on where you live I guess!
