At last, good news for homebuyers. Time for affordable, energy-efficient homes. 'Future proof' housing solutions from European specialists
March 2008
For rockenergy's Managing Director, Christian A. Wittke, the subject of saving energy is a passion: "These houses are built to the highest specifications yet they represent incredible value for money as they are easily affordable and inexpensive to run. For example, a three-bedroom house on the client's plot would cost from £ 230,000 with energy costs a mere £ 400 a year. And they are 'future proof', meeting all government regulations on energy consumption and emissions to 2013 and beyond. In addition, they are 'healthy' houses, with superior ventilation providing a draught and condensation-free environment which can alleviate a range of conditions such as asthma and lung irritations."
Clients are invited to customise every aspect of their build to create a unique home. Selected from an infinite array of possibilities, layouts are then plotted by computer and pre-manufactured by Haas in their pristine, technologically-advanced factory in Bavaria. Seamless
Continuity is maintained when the houses are constructed on site by the manufacturers in three to five days. In partnership with basement specialist Knecht, the floor space of each house can be maximised by extending downwards, for more than one floor if required, providing a warm, watertight foundation.
Private houses are just the beginning. Wittke sees the synergy of the rockenergy approach benefiting the wider market. "The obvious application is Affordable Housing. The cost efficiency in both time and money could save local authorities a fortune. Our presence at the recent CIH exhibition in Aberdeen confirmed strong interest from housing associations from around Scotland and they are likely to be first in the queue to capitalise on the technology we can offer. We can also apply the same efficient, modular process to schools, hospitals and any type of commercial or industrial building."
To confirm and guarantee the superior quality of any rockenergy building, its completion is complemented by a detailed thermal imaging survey.
rockenergy will be exhibiting at the Homebuilding and Renovating Exhibition at Glasgow's SECC on May 17 and 18.
